KEY SKILLS
Written Communication
A sophisticated user of written language, developed through A-level English. These skills have been enhanced by studying a journalism degree, course projects and involvement in student newspaper.
Verbal Communication and Presentation
A confident and effective communicator, I have further developed these skills through PowerPoint presentations, feature/story pitches, face-to-face interviews and telephone interviews.
IT
I have developed IT skills through academic study and work placements. I’m a frequent user of Microsoft Office programs and competent using Adobe InDesign and Photoshop to create magazine/paper layouts. I also have experience in web design using Fireworks and Dreamweaver.
Creativity and Team Work
The degree requires the generation of innovative ideas for reports, stories and feature projects. This has included working in teams to brainstorm ideas and to create team produced magazines, blogs, newspapers and websites. I specialise in page design, aided by my good knowledge of Apple Mac programs and my strong interest in print production.
Organisation
I have excellent organisational skills and self-motivation, which is demonstrated by my ability to continually meet deadlines, achieve high grades and balance course work with a part-time job.
